Update 6-29-06: Hi, I just wanted to let you know that they are sitting faithfuly on eggs that should hatch any day now. I can't wait and I am so pleased with this couple. They got busy buiding a nest as soon as I started offering them about 50 meal worms a day. I love these birds. I wish I had more room and more flights and more money so I could buy more couples! Comments: I was able to cut one day to delivery of the birds, calling the central Post Offfice of Fort Lauderdale and advising them of the shipment, and it works they call me back around 4.30 p.m.today (3-29-06) that the birds just arrived to pick them up. To be honest with you, this time I was afraid that something bad had happened, because you can not hear a thing inside the box , so I thought they are dead, but fortunately I was wrong and when finally got home and open up the box they were very quiet on the floor of the box, without saying not even beep. They are beatiful both of the pairs, being the Diamond a little bully when they got in the aviary with all the others, but tomorrow they are going to be by themselves in a large breeder cage. Again thanks for everything and I will keep you in mind, as soon as I decided what else I want.

Comments: I called the PO about 5:45 am and asked if the birds had arrived yet. They came in about 5:00 am. I picked them up about 6:00 am on 3-31-06.
I got them home, they seem no worse for the ware. Thanks for your for everything. After spending most the day here they seem to be quite happy. They have bathed, eaten and flown and the hen is chirping. They appear to be healthy and happy. Thanks once again.

Comments: I wanted to let you know that the two finches arrived early this morning at the Post Office. I received a call from them to let me know that the birds had arrived and they wanted me to come immediately to pick them up. It seems that they didn't hear a sound when they brought the box in and were afraid that the birds were not alive. Needless to say, when I arrived back at home and carefully opened the box, they frantically flew about. Once inside the aviary they seemed to be fine. The male Star finch immediately spotted the hen and flew to the branch and hopped towards her in that silly dance they'll perform. She, of course, did not appear to be interested. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that the birds arrived safe and sound. I usually isolate them for a couple of days, but I was late for work and had to rush out. Hopefully, they'll be OK when I get back home. Please let me know when the female Saffron is ready to ship. Incidentally, the packing was done very well.

Comments: I took receipt of the two canaries this afternoon. They are absolutely beautiful. They appear to be in good health, are fluttering around the cage, and chirping like crazy. The male red factor took a bath within ten minutes of being in the cage. They are eating and drinking with no problems. You did an excellent job in the breeding. Their colors are very distinct. We will be in touch when we get ready to breed them to find them compatible mates. Do you know the ages them?

I have put one pair of the grenadiers in a cage together.. and the other male separate. Should I put the two males together until quarantine is over and then pair up in the flight.. or should they all be different.. or am I okay with a male/female together and a male separate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Once I get these guys through the next 30 days.. Picked up the Goldfinches this morning at 7:15am. When they called me from the post office around 6:30am. They told me that they thought the birds were not living since there wasn't any sound. Anyway, I went straight to the post office and after taking up the box and putting it in my car I opened the corner of the box to see the birds were both alright. I took them straight to my store (cellular store) and put each in a seperate cage. They are both in good feather and both look like males. One absolutley is and has a very good song! At first apperance I would take the other one as male too. If it sings too, I'll let you know. The bottom line is that I would like to thank you for the serious precautions taken in shipment (frankly, I was quite worried since the birds spent two night in a box) and then for really sending me a good warbler which is also good in feather. For a person who has always had a European Goldfinch since 7 years old, I surely appreciate the value of such a bird.

Comments: I got the birds tonight, the 17th at 9:30pm. The people at the Gaithersburg PO called and I picked them up. It saved the birds from waiting there overnight to be sent to Clarkburg the next morning. They are in great condition, fussing around, eating, drinking and calling to each other. Each pair is in a 24 x 16 x 16 cage. I'm not sure I have correctly sorted them as m/f pairs. I know at least one of them is male by the song. The other male has not song yet. I tried to determine sex by beak size but really can't tell. They are all beautiful, clean and healthy. Thank you. I will send pictures soon.

Comments: OMG. I just recieved my hens from Singing Wings Aviary. If you haven't seen thier birds all I can say is OMG. They are soooo gorgeous. My males are all crowding to one side of the cage to see the new hens and the hens are doing the same to hear the song of the yet unseen males. I can't thank you enough for everything!
