NORMAL USPS EXPRESS SHIPPING SEASON IS SEPTEMBER-NOVEMBER & MARCH-JUNE

DELTA SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND !

USPS EXPRESS MAIL

USPS Express Mail shipments normaly arrive overnight or the second day to some locations. Your distance from our shipping location does not neccesarily reflect the time your shipment will take to arrive to it's destination. Locations closest to major airport hubs generaly recieve shipments faster as the post office contracts LIVE BIRD shipments via major airlines then routes them to your local post office. The majority of orders we ship out on Tuesday before 12:30pm arrive Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

The U.S. Postal Service considers birds to be perishable items and they DO NOT accept any responsibility for birds that arrive dead unless the box is crushed or shows other evidence of mishandling. We do guarantee live arrival on birds shipped through USPS EXPRESS (except Gouldian Finches) if they arrive overnight or second day! We DO NOT guarantee birds delayed in route by USPS as this would be beyond our control. Please understand we do not control exact time of arrival or route once the birds are shipped. The United States Postal Service does a great job handling LIVE BIRDS and have been doing it for many years. While we are very pleased with their service to date there is always a possibility of shipments being delayed whenever shipping is involved. We have shipped literally several hundred orders with USPS EXPRESS through the years and to date have only had two late arrivals both in which the birds arrived fine.

Please be sure to read over our Guarantee Policy for further information on guarantees and terms of sales.

We will e-mail the USPS EXPRESS tracking numbers to the buyer the day we ship the birds out. The post office will contact you by the phone numbers you provide us with when your shipment of LIVE BIRDS arrives although we insist you notify your local post office of the expected delivery ahead of time after you recieve the tracking number. Please insure that the post office will be able to get in touch with you at the number(s) you provide when your birds are expected to arrive! When your local post office calls, you will be required to pick up and sign for your LIVE BIRD shipment. Sometimes the post office will deliver the birds to your address but prior arrangements should be made between you and your local post office for this. We personaly feel it is better if you pick them up as the birds will spend less time in the shipping route. Shipments can be tracked at: www.usps.com . There tracking service only updates every night so you will most likley have your birds before it shows the updated info in the tracking system. If there would happen to be a delay longer than expected this service will be helpful. Please read over our Shipping FAQ's below to answer questions you might have concerning shipping.

We will confirm all shipments by e-mail or phone prior to the shipping!

When will my order be shipped?

We will ship out all USPS orders (weather permitting) which have been paid in full with in 7-14 days from recieving the order unless we inform you otherwise. The reason we wait 7-14 days is to give enough time for checks to clear and so we can ship out as many orders as possible at the same time. We normaly send shipments out on Monday or Tuesday of every week, doing this allows sufficient time for you to recieve your shipment before the weekend. Shipments of birds can not be arranged during the weekend.

If you have choosen Delta Airlines as your shipping method we will have to notify the Airline and arrange a date to bring the birds. We will contact you after talking to the airline and inform you of the shipment status. Airline shipments are booked for Tuesday or Friday arrival.

Will you contact me before the birds are shipped?

Of course, we verify all orders at least one day in advance either by phone or e-mail. We also notify you the same day after they have been shipped out to give you the tracking number, the time they were shipped out and the expected arrival date.

When will my birds arrive?

In most cases your birds will arrive overnight or the second day to some locations. You can contact your local post office ahead of time and ask when they recieve daily Express mail deliveries. For Instance if we ship them out on Tuesday before 12:30pm you should get your birds Wednesday afternoon/eveing or Thursday morning.

Your birds will arrive with Delta Airlines and be ready for pick up in 4-8 hours. Flights, reference numbers and estimated times of arrivals will be provided when shipping via airline after the payment is recieved and flight is booked.

Where will my birds arrive?

All USPS Express shipments will arrive at your local post office. You can call your post office and make arrangements for them to be delivered to your home but it is always better if you sign for and pick them up as soon as they arrive at the post office. Having them delivered requires them to spend more time in the mail route.

If you requested Airline shipping your birds will arrive at your designated airport. You will be requirred to sign for and pick them up at the airport. A driver's lincense or ID and reference number may be required for pick up. We will inform you of estimated time of arrival, reference number and other flight info prior to shipping. Most American Airline shipments are picked up at the American Airline ticket counter while Delta shipments are picked up at the Delta Air Logistics facility at the arriving aiport.

Can I arrange to have someone else pickup my birds when they arrive?

Normaly this can be arranged by contacting the post office and notifing them of the person that will be picking the LIVE BIRD shipment up. If the post office is not notified they may not release your birds to anyone other than you! Airlines normaly check ID's when you sign for the birds so they may not allow this.

Can I arrange to have birds shipped to me on the weekend?

No, this is not possible. Delta, American and the USPS will not allow arrival of live shipments during the weekend. Airline & USPS shipments must be arranged Monday-Tuesday.

Do you guarantee live arrival?

We DO guarantee live arrival on birds shipped USPS (except Gouldians) only if they arrive same day (Tues.), overnight (Wed.) or the next day (Thursday)! Gouldians are insured when shipped through Delta or American Airlines.

We DO NOT guarantee live arrival on delayed deliveries as this is beyond our control.

We will replace or credit a future order on all birds Dead on Arrival (except Gouldian Finches) if you contact us the day they arrive and inform us of the situation. If the bird looks ill or stressed when it (they) arrive contact us as death by stress can be prevented. The Buyer is responsible for all return shipping cost to replace the birds. We can not be held liable for birds that die after they have been accepted into the buyer's care.

For more info on our Guarantee Policy <--Click here!

All Delta and American Airline shipments are insured so you will need to file a claim with the airline if any are DOA as soon as your birds are recieved.

Is shipping birds safe?

Yes, to date we have had minimal losses in the thousands of birds we have shipped USPS EXPRESS and only one loss shipping through Delta or American Airlines. All shippers seem to handle the birds with great care. All orders are shipped with plently of feed and water. You can see our TESTIMONALS in which recent customers have recieved their birds. TESTIMONALS II <--Click!

Why don't you guarantee live arrival on Gouldians shipped through USPS.

It is our belief that Gouldians tend to stress faster than other birds and shipping through Delta or American Airlines is faster than shipping USPS. We recommend shipping them only by Airlines. However, we have shipped Gouldians numerous times through USPS at the owner's request with no problems. If you choose to accept Gouldians through USPS shipping we can not be held responsible if the Gouldian stresses and dies before it arrives. Some species just aren't as hardy and tolerate as others. If you feel hesitant about shipping Gouldians USPS EXPRESS please by all means choose Delta or American Airlines. We have shipped many Gouldians USPS EXPRESS but have had 3 DOA on arrival in the past. The majority shipped do fine but there is always a possibility we want you to be aware of.

For more info on our Guarantee Policy <--Click here!

Which shipping method is better?

While airline shipping is faster USPS EXPRESS will deliver overnight or second day for 1/3 of the cost. So you decide. To date all but one bird has arrived to their destinations just fine using Delta and American airlines. We have experienced minimal DOA's with USPS EXPRESS and birds were replaced or credits on future orders were implemented.

How much does it cost to ship birds?

USPS Express shipping cost is $38.00 for 1-10 birds (this price includes a $10.00 Horizon box fee).

Delta Airlines shipping cost is $115.00 for 1-100 birds (this price includes a $20.00 airline shipping box fee). Health Certificates are not required to ship via Delta but check to make sure your state does not require them.

American Airlines is $195.00 (this price includes a $35.00 kennel fee). You will also have an additional charge of $30.00-$60.00 for Vet Check and Health Certificate for American Airline shipping!

How many birds can you ship in a shipping Box?

We will ship no more than 10 Finches or Canaries per Horizon box used for USPS EXPRESS shipping. If you have an exceptionaly large order of birds you wish to be shipped contact us and we will give you price adjustments on two or more boxes used for shipping through USPS.

20-40 Canaries or Finches can be shipped per shipping box via Delta or American Airlines.

All Hookbills must be shipped in plastic kennels via Airlines!

If I order more than 10 finches and need two USPS Horizon boxes will they arrive at the same time?

Yes, we can tape the boxes together and they will arrive together at the same time. The shipping cost will increase from $38.00 to $55.00 as each USPS shipping box is $10.00. Shipping cost actually only increases by seven dollors.

If I order different types of birds can you ship them together?

In most cases we do not recommend shipping different types of birds together. However, we will ship Finches with Canaries but we will not ship large birds with smaller ones (Quail with Finches). If you insist on it we will ship them together but it will void any guarantee on the birds. Horizon does make two compartment shipping boxes which can hold different species in the same box. We can order these if needed or we can tape two Horizon boxes together. Remember Parrots & Hookbills CAN NOT be shipped by USPS.

If it is very hot or cold will you still ship birds?

We do not ship birds USPS when shipping or receiving locations are predicted to be below 40°F or above 85°F. American Airlines PPS can ship above 85 degrees provided it is a non-stop flight or all connections are made with in 45 minutes.

Normal shipping season is from September-November & March-June!

Will you hold birds for me?

We require a 50% Non-Refundable deposit in order to hold birds if needed until weather permitts shipping, etc. Reasoning for this is to insure you are serious about your bird purchase. We have in the past held birds for a considerable amount of time for a customer only to find that the intended purchaser no longer wanted the birds when shipping time approached. Birds are sold on a "first come, first serve" basis if no deposit is recieved.

Can I cancell my order?

If you have not yet sent the payment for your order then yes you may cancel your order with us at any time. However, If the payment for your order has already been processed then we will not be able to refund your payment. Please do not call or email us when your birds are already scheduled to be shipped and ask to cancel the order. There is a lot of time, planning and work involved in preparing birds for shipping and cancellations after the payment has been processed are just not feasible. Please be sure you are serious about your bird order and do in fact want the birds before payment is sent for your order!

Can I pick up the birds if I am in the area?

Sure! There is no problem with this just let us know ahead of time & e-mail us to make arrangements. Please note that only cash is accepted for pick-up orders unless paid in advance.

Where are you located?

We are located in London, Arkansas which is about 1.5 hours Northwest of Little Rock, Arkansas.
